HE President Emmerson Mnangagwa presided over the Defence Forces Day celebrations
His Excellency President and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa presided over the Defence Forces Day celebrations at the National Sports Stadium. This year’s celebrations were themed:”Brick by Brick, Stone Upon Stone – Zimbabwe Defence Forces: Creating a Conducive Environment for the Attainment of Vision 2030″. Zimbabweans celebrate Defence Forces Day in honour of the dedication of the country’s uniformed forces and their commitment to protecting national sovereignty, upholding justice and maintaining law and order.
His Excellency President and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa at the event conferred medals to Non-Combatant Cadres and War Collaborators for their contribution during the Liberation Struggle, nominated by the Ministry of Defence and War Veterans Affairs. Notable recipients of the Medals for include Cde Mike Bimha, Cde Pupurai Togarepi, Cde Lovemore Matuke and Cde Omega Hungwe.
