HE President Mnangagwa officially opened 4th and 5th phases of Varun Beverages expansion

His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa toured and officially opened 4th and 5th phases of Varun Beverages Expansion Initiatives at the Varun Beverages Plant along Simon Mazorodze in Harare.

Varun Beverages Zimbabwe is part of the Indian-owned global Varun Beverage Limited group, whose business is the second largest bottler of PepsiCo international producing many of its flagship brands such as Pepsi, 7Up, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Everess, and Sting energy drink. Varun Beverages Chairperson, Mr R Jaipurira highlighted that a total of USD101 million had been invested in Zimbabwe since opening in 2018 and 1 billion bottles of beverages are produced per year.

The company directly employs 2000 workers and indirectly employs 4000 employees. The officially opened 4th phase is a new plastic closure plant with annual capacity of 500m pieces and the 5th phase is state of the art warehouse facility, His Excellency President Mnangagwa laid its foundation stone in October 2021. His Excellency President Mnangagwa commended Varun Beverages for manufacturing preforms and highlighted it was inline with Government import-substitution and export development policy. President Mnangagwa encouraged prospective investors not to hesitate investing in Zimbabwe as the Second Republic has availed a conducive business operating environment.
