HE President Mnangwagwa Conferred Freedom of City
His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa was conferred with the Freedom of the City of Gweru status by Gweru City Council (GCC), in recognition of his contribution to the growth of the city.
Gweru councillors resolved in December 2022 to confer President Mnangagwa with the Freedom of the City award. The Freedom of the City is an honour given to a person (civilian) or military unit, in recognition of their exceptional service to the city. The ceremony was also marked with the unveiling of the Remembrance Plaque on ED Mnangagwa street, formerly known as Main street.
The Gweru City council commended the excellent and visionary leadership by HE Cde ED Mnangagwa as shown by his efforts to improve the lives of citizens of Zimbabwe underpinned by vision 2030 which seeks to eradicate poverty and endeavours to achieve an Upper Middle-income economy.
