National Hero Dr Joshua Malinga buried
His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa presided over the burial of the late National Hero Dr Joshua Teke Malinga.Cde Malinga succumbed to cancer on 8 September 2023 at his Northvale home in Bulawayo.He was 79 and is survived by wife Ronia Nyamutenha and 10 children. Cde Joshua Teke Malinga, was born on the 28th of April 1944 in Filabusi,Matabeleland South Province to Sethekile and Salileni Malinga (nee Ncube). He was the third born in a family of nine. Cde Joshua Malinga was Special Advisor to the President on Disability, ZANU PF Politburo member and former Mayor of Bulawayo.
In 2017, His Excellency, President E.D Mnangagwa appointed Cde Malinga Special Advisor on national disability issues to the Office of the President and Cabinet, a position he served up to the time of his demise. In his role as special adviser on national disability, Cde J. Malinga managed to come up with a National Disability Policy of Zimbabwe, a first of its kind.
