HE President Attends International Renewable Energy Conference and Expo 2023 in Victoria Falls.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa gave a keynote address at the 4th edition of the International Renewable Energy Conference and Expo 2023 in Victoria Falls. The Conference was themed, “Managing The Future – Clean Energy Possibilities.”
The conference brought together climate change agents, independent power producers, energy experts, diplomats, policymakers, financiers, and insurers among others to discuss how to move towards clean, sustainable energy to mitigate the effects of climate change.
The highlight of the conference was H.E President Mnangagwa witnessing the signing of an MOU worth US$300 million between ZETDC and the French independent power producer HDF Energy to build Zimbabwe’s first utility-scale green hydrogen power plant, also known as Middle Sabi Renewable, inside the Chipangayi Renewable Energy Technology Park (RETPark). HDF Energy is a global pioneer in hydrogen power which develops and operates high capacity large-scale Hydrogen-to-Power infrastructure to provide firm or on-demand electricity from renewable energy sources.
