Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Hon. Dr Zhemu Soda, says the Government is considering reviewing regulatory fees and administrative costs in the media sector to enhance industry viability.

Speaking at the Daily News 15th anniversary celebrations, Hon. Soda noted that the reforms are aimed at easing the cost burden on media houses and fostering growth.

“We want to create a fiscal environment where a newspaper can reinvest in its journalists, upgrade its digital infrastructure and expand its reach without being choked by the cost of regulation,” he said.

“We want you to spend more time innovating and less time worrying about administrative bottlenecks.”
