World Aquatic Animal Day Celebrations

Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa @ZimFirstLady was the guest of honour at the World Aquatic Animal Day at the ZimParks Headquarters in Harare.  The World Aquatic Animal Day is a day dedicated to aquatic animals and is celebrated on the 3rd of April every year. This year’s theme is Intersectional Considerations of Aquatic Animals.  The Purpose of the celebration is to raise global awareness on aquatic animals, their ecological, social, cultural, and economic roles as well as discussing and finding solutions to the challenges they face with the aim of improving their conservation status.  Aquatic animals in Zimbabwe include Amphibians like frogs and toads, Freshwater crabs, reptiles like aquatic snakes, crocodiles and clawless otters, Birds including, flamingos, and ducks, fish, and mammals like hippopotamus.
